Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 April 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Khairun Nikah, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Khairun Nikah, a platform registered in England and Wales.
2. What this platform is
Khairun Nikah is a matrimonial platform designed to facilitate introductions and assist with the process of Islamic nikah. We provide profile discovery, compatibility matching, messaging, Nikkah contract tools, and a ceremony facilitation feature.
We are not a dating website. We do not provide legal advice, religious rulings, or scholarly guidance. We are a technology platform — your religious and legal obligations in any marriage are your own responsibility.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use this service. By creating an account, you confirm that this is the case.
You must provide accurate information when registering. Creating an account with false identity or misrepresenting your age or marital status is grounds for immediate termination.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the platform only for its intended purpose: seeking a partner for nikah in good faith. Full conduct rules are set out in our Conduct Policy, which forms part of these terms.
In summary, you must not:
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- harass, threaten, or abuse other members
- impersonate another person or create a fake account
- misrepresent your identity, marital status, or intentions
- share, scrape, or commercially exploit other members’ data
- attempt to circumvent access controls or Wali mode settings
- use the contract or ceremony tools for sham or fraudulent marriages
5. Nikkah contract tools
The contract builder, negotiation, signing, and ceremony features are tools to help you draft and formalise a Nikkah agreement between two consenting adults. They are not a substitute for religious guidance or legal advice.
Important: a Nikkah conducted through this platform does not automatically constitute a legally recognised civil marriage under English law. If you wish your marriage to have legal status in England and Wales (or any other jurisdiction), you must separately register the marriage through the appropriate civil process. We strongly encourage you to take advice from a qualified scholar regarding the Islamic validity of any agreement, and from a solicitor regarding its civil legal status.
You are responsible for ensuring that any contract you create and sign meets your religious requirements and the legal requirements of your jurisdiction.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Some features require a paid subscription. The price and billing cycle are shown to you before you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe and RevenueCat. We never store your payment card details.
Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason (your “cooling-off period”). However, because we provide immediate access to digital content upon purchase, by subscribing you expressly consent to performance beginning immediately and acknowledge that your right to cancel is thereby lost once you have accessed the premium features. You will be informed of this at the point of purchase.
If you have not yet accessed any premium features, you may cancel within 14 days for a full refund by contacting us via the contact form.
Ongoing cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or through the App Store / Play Store where applicable. Cancellation stops future billing; you retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period. No partial-period refunds are issued for early cancellation outside the cooling-off window.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile text, photos, contract documents). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and transmit it for the purpose of operating the platform. We do not use your content for advertising or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe the rights of others and complies with applicable law.
8. Safety and moderation
We take the safety of our members seriously. We may review reports, restrict features, suspend accounts, or remove content where necessary to protect members, investigate misuse, or comply with legal obligations.
Our full moderation approach is described in the Conduct Policy. We do not use fully automated enforcement — serious reports are reviewed by a human.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a partner through the platform, that any match will be compatible, or that any Nikkah contract will be valid under Islamic or civil law. User-provided content (including profiles and contract text) is not verified by us for accuracy.
Nothing on this platform constitutes legal, religious, or financial advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Khairun Nikah shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the service or your interactions with other members.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Termination
You can close your account at any time via account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these terms, or where we believe your conduct poses a risk to other members or to the platform.
On termination, your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy — in particular the retention periods set out in section 7 of that policy. Signed contracts and ceremony records may be retained for a reasonable period after account closure.
Provisions that by nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify you by email or via the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should close your account before they take effect.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first — we would rather resolve things directly.
