Conduct Policy
Last updated: 20 April 2026
Why this exists
Khairun Nikah exists for one purpose: to help Muslims find a partner for nikah, properly and with dignity. The process of seeking a spouse is treated seriously in Islamic tradition — it involves trust, openness, and the involvement of family and community where appropriate.
This platform is built to reflect that seriousness. The rules below are not a generic list of dos and don’ts — they exist to protect that purpose and to protect you and every other member who has placed their trust in this space.
By creating an account, you agree to this Conduct Policy. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Honesty and intention
Everyone on this platform deserves to know that the person they are speaking to is who they say they are, and wants what they say they want.
- Your profile must be accurate. Your photos must be recent and genuinely of you. Your age, location, marital status, and background must be truthful.
- You must have a sincere intention towards nikah. Using this platform for casual conversation, entertainment, or any purpose other than seeking a spouse is not permitted.
- If your circumstances change — for example, you become engaged or married, or decide you are no longer seeking — you must update your profile or close your account promptly.
Deliberate misrepresentation of your identity, marital status, or intentions is grounds for immediate and permanent removal.
2. Respectful communication
Every conversation on this platform should reflect the gravity of what you are here for. You are in early discussions with someone who may become your spouse — conduct yourself accordingly.
- Do not send unsolicited intimate messages, images, voice notes, or any content of a sexual nature. This applies regardless of whether the other person has seemed receptive.
- Do not pressure, manipulate, or coerce another member — this includes pressure around Mahr amounts, contract terms, timelines for decisions, or the involvement of their guardian.
- Disagreement is normal. Harassment is not. If someone has declined to connect or has ended a conversation, respect that decision.
- If you are a guardian using Wali mode, your role is to support and protect the person in your care — not to override their wishes or communicate on their behalf without their knowledge.
3. Wali and guardian boundaries
Wali mode is a genuine feature, not a formality. If you have enabled it, your guardian has visibility of your matches and conversations as you have configured.
- Do not attempt to circumvent Wali mode or persuade another member to disable it against their will or against their family’s wishes.
- Guardian accounts must be genuine — a family member or trusted community member with an actual relationship to the person they represent. Creating a guardian account as a way to access another person’s information without their knowledge is a serious violation.
- Guardians may use the platform on behalf of the person in their care but must not conduct conversations in a way that deceives the other party about who they are speaking with.
4. Contract and ceremony integrity
The contract builder and ceremony features represent some of the most significant moments on this platform. They must be used with the same seriousness with which nikah itself is approached.
- These tools must only be used in the context of a genuine, intended nikah between two consenting adults.
- Do not forge, falsify, or misrepresent signatures, witness consent, or any other element of a contract or ceremony record.
- Do not use these features to create documentation for sham marriages — for immigration purposes, financial fraud, or any other reason. We will report this to the relevant authorities.
- Witnesses must be real people who genuinely consent to their role. Adding a name without that person’s knowledge is not permitted.
5. Privacy of other members
Information shared on this platform — profiles, photos, conversations — is shared in a context of trust. It must stay in that context.
- Do not share, screenshot, or distribute another member’s profile, photos, or messages outside the platform without their explicit consent.
- Do not use information gathered here to identify, locate, or contact someone through channels outside the platform — such as finding them on social media, contacting their family, or appearing at their address.
- Even after a conversation ends, the information someone shared with you in good faith remains private.
6. What we do not allow
The following will result in account suspension or permanent removal:
- Harassment, threats, or intimidation of any member
- Impersonating another person or creating a false identity
- Scam behaviour — including romance scams, financial fraud, or phishing
- Soliciting money from other members outside of an agreed Mahr
- Creating multiple accounts (e.g. to evade a suspension or to misrepresent yourself)
- Automated scraping, data harvesting, or bot activity
- Sharing or uploading content that is explicit, abusive, or illegal
- Any conduct that puts another member’s safety at risk
7. How to report a concern
If another member has behaved in a way that concerns you — whether that is harassment, dishonesty, a safety issue, or anything else in this policy — please report it via our contact form.
Please include as much detail as you can: the username or profile, the nature of the concern, and any relevant messages or screenshots. We take all reports seriously and will acknowledge your report promptly.
Depending on the seriousness of the concern, we may take action ranging from a warning to immediate permanent removal. For safety-related concerns — threats, coercion, or fraud — we will cooperate fully with law enforcement.
8. How we handle reports
We do not use fully automated enforcement. Every serious report is reviewed by a human.
We act on the balance of evidence available to us. Accounts are not removed solely on the basis of an unverified complaint. Where the evidence is ambiguous, we may take a proportionate interim action (such as restricting certain features) while we investigate.
If your account is suspended or removed and you believe this was a mistake, you can appeal via the contact form. We will review appeals fairly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
